Bergen LEADS Public Forum on the Future of Nonprofits

  • Tuesday, June 11, 2013
  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Bergen Community College, Paramus, NJ - Ciccone Theatre

The Great Recession – and slow recovery – has ushered in a “new normal” in the non-profit sector.  In an era of diminishing resources and increasing need, non-profits are scrambling to provide services and fulfill their missions.

Traditionally, the response would be to either cut services or grow revenue.  Many organizations – already lean - have cut expenses to the bone, severely hampering their ability to meet their mission.  On the revenue side, more and more organizations are competing for scarce dollars, often with little success.

Non-profit organizations in Bergen County have not escaped and are also dealing with the “new normal” every day.   Many, especially social service organizations, wonder if they will be able to survive the year – or the month – and whether their clients will be able to do the same.

Join us on June 11 as the Bergen LEADS Class of 2013 recommends new strategies for nonprofit success based results of months of research into the response of local nonprofits to the economy and innovative models being embraced by other communities.  There will be opportunity for audience participation, followed by a networking reception.

This event is FREE and open to the public, but you must pre-register to attend.
